Sugar Cravings - Tips & Help
Since certain added sugars are 8 times more addictive than cocaine, and the fact that sugar causes so many illnesses and turns our body chemistry balance "upside down", it's so necessary to educate adults, teens and children about the facts, and the solutions. Main stream brightly colored candy for example is not food - It's filled with all kinds of toxic chemicals including dyes and preservatives. Consuming doughnuts, pastries, pies and cakes made with white flour will not help our extremely "broken" health care system, because it's all very inflammatory, causes all kinds of aches and pains - and upsets the balance of our "gut" - or microbiome which causes many other health problems including leaky gut - which you want to heal and DO NOT want to have.

Having more knowledge gives us courage and personal power! The more we know about this topic, the more courage we can muster up to get over the habit (which is really an addiction of epidemic proportions) and make better choices.

Need more courage to get over or have more control with your sugar "problem"?
Search on YouTube for the 14 minute report from
"60 Minutes" on "Is Sugar Toxic". Dr. Sanjay Gupta reports on new research showing that beyond weight gain, sugar can take a serious toll on your health, worsening conditions ranging from heart disease to cancer.

Products I recommend to help re-balance your microbiome (gut) health and help stop the cravings for sugar (and processed carbs) are from Nature's Sunshine, a 45 year old company in Utah. Please contact me for guidance. Appropriate (potent) probiotics, digestive enzymes, more fiber and certain cleanses, especially for Candida, help get rid of the cravings - But these have to be used along with better eating habits that help your body become more nourished and hydrated. Long term added sugar use (along with lots of processed foods) depletes the body of vitamins and minerals, and can cause many digestive issues, allergies, food sensitivities, depression and other mood issues.

Nature’s Sunshine was the first company to commercially encapsulate herbs and has been a pioneer and leader in quality control in the herb industry. Their vice-president in charge of quality control, won’t compromise the quality of NSP products in the slightest. NSP tests, tests and retests every ingredient and finished product they manufacture. They test for microbial and chemical contamination and to make sure that the plant material is from the right plant, is the right plant part and has the right profile of constituents (meaning it was properly grown and harvested).

Nature's Sunshine has over 500 pure, quality products - so it helps
to have my recommendations on what to order before you go there.

Since sugar is so addictive, and if you really want to get over this addiction, DON"T try to have a little taste of a cookie or brownie, or caramel sweetened latte - It will always trigger the desire for more. I tried that "head" game for awhile!!! It doesn't work. You cannot have a little bit of sugar - You have to tell your addicted mind that this stuff is like a drug and will destroy your health if it hasn't caused problems already. Eat some fruit instead and find out why your cravings are so powerful. I can help you. It's not only the addictive part going on in your brain, there are usually ( almost always?) other gut imbalance issues too, that are part of your cravings problem.

***Some people can take or leave sweets - but I haven't met very many! I'm certainly not one them. I can become re-addicted to sugar after 2- 3 days of tasting it in a row - and I don't ever want to be addicted to it again. Sugar addiction is so annoying and can cause weight, hormonal, mood, health and energy problems.

One of the best tools that can help curb your cravings is a quarter sized chemical free phototherapy patch that can last for about 12+ hours, depending on the person. They come in packs of 30 -so the pack lasts about a month. Cost varies depending on how you buy them. They are usually about $3.00 a patch. These are a great "tool" when used with the other lifestyle improvements that include better nutrition and supplements to help replenish your body. The company has more than 10 different types of phototherapy patches. Contact me for details.

It's recommended
Women have only 25 grams of sugar a day.
Men - 36-38 grams
Children - less than 15 grams
Children under 2 - No added sugar

It's better to only have naturally sweet foods like fruit - but not too much. Having too much fruit on a daily basis, isn't a great habit to get into either.
